Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT)
What is PACT?
PACT is an integrative approach encompassing many different aspects including neurobiology, attachment theory, and the biology of activation. Neurobiology assists in providing a framework for how our brains are wired and respond to situations. Attachment theory provides a lens by which we view how we connect with others in relationships. Our nervous system is impacted by our level of activation. The ability to remain grounded and attend to our partner is crucial to relationship success. PACT integrates all of these aspects to assist couples in working towards becoming secure functioning in their relationship.
